Bentham Pottery can provide an entertaining and fun day out as a team building adventure / group outing / private party / corporate event etc. The day/half day can be tailored to meet your individual requirements.
You can choose to do some of the following activities:
- A session of throwing on the wheel
- Making a ‘friendship’ bowl that involves all of you unknowingly contributing to making each others’ pot.
- Making a mug each – handy as a reminder of the day when back in the office at tea-break time.
- Pulling a handle. (This generates a lot of laughs)
- Making an African style pot
To make the day more special, we can offer:
Prizes: one for the longest pulled handle and one for the best thrown pot
Delicious fresh sandwiches and lovely homemade scones with jam & cream at lunchtime. (Tea, coffee & biscuits are available during the day.)
For a group of 8-10 people, this would typically cost about £80 per person per day including the lunch.
NB The absolute maximum we could accommodate comfortably in the pottery is 10.
Here are some comments from previous participants:
“Excellent day, made very welcome by Lee, Kathy & the family. Everyone had a great time and we surprised ourselves at the quality of our work. The location is beautiful and we were well catered for (loved the fresh cream scones!). If the opportunity comes around again I’d definitely like to have another go”.
“This was one team building event which I wasn’t looking forward to, when one of my colleagues said we were going to Bentham to do some pottery I thought ‘whoopee what a great day this is going to be, not’. When we arrived we were made to feel really welcome, we had tea and biscuits on tap and we needed it as it was such a cold and miserable day, on the outside anyway. I have never laughed so much in my life at everyone’s attempt at making a bowl and more so making a handle for a jug. It really got everyone working together and also enjoying each others company away from the office. I would fully recommend it to anyone even to those sceptics like me, it was a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding day and I would like to thank Lee and his family for their hospitality and for making it a day to remember.”
“What an unexpectedly fantastic day – so different to anything I’ve ever done before on a team building event – it was perfect. We had such good fun, especially ‘pulling’ the handle! Can’t wait to see our finished ‘masterpieces!”
“The day was very well organised so there was always something new to learn. Even those less creative amongst us were able to find something we were good at. I can’t wait to see the final products!!”
“What a fantastic day, I had great fun and didn’t realise we would be trying so many different styles of pottery making. The only downside to the day is that I enjoyed it so much I don’t want to go back to my own job!”
