Pottery Courses
Interested in having a first go at throwing or improving your pottery skills? All ages and abilities catered for.
In addition to our standard Pottery Courses, we can also cater for larger groups (up to 15 people) such as birthday parties, WI groups, hen parties, team building / group events etc. We can also supply gift vouchers for pottery courses which make unusual, thoughtful Christmas and birthday presents. Contact us for details about any of these.

In a working pottery located in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales near Ingleton, famous for its stunning Waterfalls Walk, Three Peaks challenges, exhilarating cycle rides, caving & climbing. |

Tutors |
Under the guidance of Kathy Cartledge or her son Lee who have, between them, over 50 years experience of craftsmanship and production thrown stoneware pottery. |

What |
Whatever you want! You can learn about throwing, slab building, press moulding, coiling, slip decorating, sculpture and glazing. Using these techniques, you can make mugs, jugs, plates, name plaques, vases, teapots etc |

When |
Flexible, to suit you - anything from a ½ day course on a rainy afternoon upwards. |

Cost
|
£25 per person per half day session.
Standard courses are normally limited to 6 people in order that sufficient individual attention can be provided. However, as courses are arranged on request, there are normally only a couple of people at any one time. The course needs a minimum of 2 people to run (either booked individually or together). There are currently 3 potters wheels on the premises.
Individual tuition can be provided at a cost of £50 per session. The price includes the firing and glazing of 2 selected pieces per session (to be collected at a later date.).
Larger groups or families with children can be catered for, for example as a team-building exercise or birthday party. Please contact us to discuss group prices.

Timetable |
Normally 9:30 till 12 then 1 till 3:30 in the afternoon but flexible to suit. Evenings can be arranged if required. |

Refreshment |
Drinks provided. Please bring a packed lunch. |

Finishing Work |
If you would like work to be fired/glazed, it will need to dry thoroughly which can take up to 4 weeks depending on its size & the weather. We will contact you after this to arrange for a convenient time for you to collect it. |

Accommodation |
This can be provided in one of our on-site self-catering cottages or you can bring your own touring caravan and use one of our pitches. Alternatively, there are plenty of bed and breakfasts in the area. |
